Elizabeth Adlung is an artist who spent many years in the computer field, indulging in her artwork whenever precious time and opportunities could be found. She finds inspiration in a wide variety of techniques and mediums to create her artworks.

Although mostly self-taught, Elizabeth studied collage with Leo Manso and painting with Sam Feinstein in New York City and Eugene van Lamsweerde in France. She exhibited paintings in the 22 Wooster Gallery in New York City and jewelry in the Fuller Craft Museum in Massachusetts.

Since living in San Miguel for several years she has collaborated with Mexican metalwork artists to create colorful sparkling insects and birds. Indigenous Huichol crafts inspired her technique of attaching colorful beads to a variety of objects. To construct each piece, she uses bits and pieces of castoff jewelry, all kinds of rhinestones and beads, and carefully blends colors, textures and shapes to construct lovable, humorous birds and insects.

Elizabeth Adlung es una artista que pasó muchos años en el campo de la informática, dedicándose a su arte siempre que encontraba tiempo y oportunidades. Encuentra inspiración en una amplia variedad de técnicas y materiales para crear sus obras de arte.

Aunque en su mayoría es autodidacta, Elizabeth estudió collage con Leo Manso y pintura con Sam Feinstein en la ciudad de Nueva York, y con Eugene van Lamsweerde en Francia. Exibió pinturas en la 22 Wooster Gallery de Nueva York y joyas en el Fuller Craft Museum en Massachusetts.

Desde que vive en San Miguel, ha colaborado con artistas mexicanos de trabajo en metal para crear insectos y aves coloridas y brillantes. Los artesanías indígenas Huichol inspiraron su técnica de adherir cuentas coloridas a una variedad de objetos. Para construir cada pieza, utiliza fragmentos de joyas desechadas, todo tipo de piedras de imitación y cuentas, y combina cuidadosamente colores, texturas y formas para crear aves e insectos encantadores y humorísticos.
